We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy HSE Manager to join the Norway HSE Team. The Deputy HSE Manager will work with the HSE Manager in the delivery of HSE activities to the projects, in accordance with the governing Subsea7 system and processes. The Deputy HSE Manager will be part of the HSEQ management team. The Deputy HSE Manager position could be transferred to a HSE Manager position going forward.

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) function is committed to an incident-free workplace, delivering projects and services on time, budget and to the required standards to create sustainable value for our shareholders, partners and the communities where we operate. HSE function is responsible for pro-active management of Safety, Health & Environment in Subsea7 Norway, and for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with other functions to support them in delivering on the company HSE objectives.

Key responsibilities: 

• When required, act as the HSE Manager
• Delegated line manager responsibility for part of the project HSE Advisors
• Take particular responsibility for the execution of special agreed, ie Health Check Program, HSE onboarding program, Self-Verification program and analysis of safety trends
• Represent the HSE function in nominated internal and external meetings
• Support resource planning to ensure that sufficient, qualified resources are available to support HSE activities in studies, tenders and projects
• Ensure adherence to the relevant HSE processes for the activities undertaken in Subsea7 Norway AS
• Contribute to implementation of ‘best practice’ in the HSE department, and continuous improvement of work processes and procedures
• Manage the interface with tendering and projects to secure a good strategic approach to the activities

Key success factors:

• Have an in depth understanding and a proactive approach to HSE elements
• Be able to develop and implement a strategy for the continuous improvement of the HSE function
• Understanding of the technical and operational aspects of the HSE Risk, and the impact on project execution
• Work closely with other functions to ensure that the HSE work is executed efficiently during tenders and projects

Qualifications: 

• Professional qualification within HSEQ disciplines, engineering or other relevant disciplines
• Relevant previous experience > 10 years
• Team management experience
• Knowledge/experience in incident investigations
