On behalf of our client, we are looking for an IT engineer
Due to increasing demand, both for updates to existing performance monitoring systems and for new systems, we are searching for a candidate to work with the configuration of our systems - particularly in the customisation of the bespoke portion of our software.
We require a person with solid programming skills and, ideally, some knowledge of marine/propulsion technology (or a willingness to learn).
The work will typically involve:
- Creation of project-specific software and configuration data to enhance/replace our existing systems.
- 2nd line support of our service/aftersales department on software-related problems.
- Remote maintenance of installed systems
- Checking/testing of system configurations.
- Some phone/email contact with customers to resolve technical issues.
Our clients customers are shipyards and ship-owners worldwide, and the successful candidate should be able to liaise with them, in cooperation with our local agent network.
We are looking for someone:
- With good core programming skills; preferably in Delphi/Pascal, or in C/C++/Java etc. (Previous experience of working in multi-programmer projects would be an advantage.)
- Able to work independently and to manage their own time effectively.
- With the initiative to supplement the information provided.
- Fluent in written/spoken English: Proficiency in Norwegian is preferred.
- Educated to BSc/MSc level in Computer Science, or a related field (or with equivalent documented experience).
