As Controller, you will be part of a competent and ambitious finance organization who is responsible for financial business support, performance reporting, business planning, financial reporting, analysis, credit management, risk management processes and IS/IT development within Commercial, a business unit in Hydro Aluminium Metal (AM). Commercial handles product marketing, sales, logistics, technical and commercial services to internal and external customers, globally.

Area of Responsibility
Your position is placed in the Commercial Finance department and will support the Product Supply & Joint Venture Offtake unit (PSJV) in AM Commercial. PSJV manages the casthouse product offtake agreements of Hydro's Joint Venture (JV) aluminium smelters in Qatar and Slovakia, and coordinates between the production unit in Qatar and Hydro's sales offices in Europe, Asia, North and South America.

As a result, these are some of your tasks and responsibilities as Controller:

  • Continuous coordination with the JV plants, working on day-to-day operations and administrative processes, e.g. pricing and invoicing
  • Work closely with the Hydro Commercial organizations as an interface between sales and plants
  • Support Business Controller during monthly financial reporting process
  • Drive improvements in business support processes and financial reporting, e.g. within modelling and digitalization
  • Ad hoc tasks and analyses

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in finance, business, or similar
  • Experienced Excel user, with good data modeling skills
  • Structured, with strong analytical skills
  • Proactive and solution oriented
  • Interest in business and operations
  • Ability to drive improvement processes
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good command of verbal and written English

Additional information
The position is based at Hydro's offices in either Oslo or Karmøy, Norway. You will report to Business Controller, Product Supply and Joint Ventures, within the Commercial Finance organisation.
