Our IT department

ConocoPhillips' IT department in Norway has over 50 motivated and technical competent employees looking forward to getting a new colleague. We have a wide range of skill sets ranging from delivering digital and data analytics solutions bringing value to the business, customer facing support and operations of our IT infrastructure. IT Norway is an active partner within ConocoPhillips’ global IT organization with main locations in Norway, USA, Canada and Australia. In IT, we work using the Safe Agile Framework methodology (SAFe).

 

About the role

ConocoPhillips has extensive ambitions to be a data-driven company where quality decisions are made based on the vast amount of data that the company has ownership of and access to. The Norway business unit has been working for many years to provision quality data and combine these to produce new insights through analytic algorithms and tools. We are now ready to take the next step in this journey, and is embarking on a modernization initiative that will give us new capabilities within the data platform and analytics area. We need people that can help us with this challenging and exciting task! One of the key roles is a data architect that is able to merge theories with practical implementation.  Maybe this is you?

 

The IT Data Architect is responsible for designing, creating and maintaining the ConocoPhillips Data Architecture within the Data & Analytics area. This involves having a holistic overview of COP data architecture and high-level data flows from official source of records to downstream business solutions. The role supports data engineers, data scientists, app developers and end users in evaluating new data solutions within agreed standards.

 

Areas of responsibility may include:

  • Actively participate in setting data delivery strategies, goals and work plans in alignment with Business Unit and IT plans
  • Work closely with relevant groups and resources in business unit and IT function and deliver data architectures to meet business needs.
  • Be familiar with IT processes end-to-end, with special focus on the system operation and application development, and actively look for improvements to the process and/or systems
  • Accountable to ensure compliance with all ConocoPhillips' Information Technology related processes, policies and work practices with a particular focus on data governance and quality security.
  • Advice on digitalization and digital opportunities
  • Interact with engaged third-party vendors

 

Qualifications - what we look for:

  • MSc/BSc in Information Technology or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within IT or other relevant disciplines
  • Experience from the Data & Analytics area
  • Experience with cloud technologies as Snowflake and Azure data & analytics related tools is an advantage, but not mandatory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to provide great customer service both in Norwegian and in English are a mandatory requirement

 

Work location

The work location is in our office in Tananger, outside Stavanger. We offer home office arrangement.
