Aero Norway is looking for a Powerplant Engineer to join the Engineering Team. The Powerplant Engineer is part of the Customer Focus Team to perform engine maintenance in line with customer agreement.


Job description

  • Be the overall technical responsible engineer while the aircraft engine is in the shop for maintenance or repair.
  • Work within the customer teams to create added value to the customer, meet customer commitments and requirements, be the technical contact for questions and support.
  • Support production personnel to solve technical problems in connection with engine overhaul and repair
  • Communicate technical issues and experience with the OEM and internal and external customers
  • Evaluate procedures to analyse and improve the overhaul of aircraft engines in accordance with guidelines given by the FAA and EASA
  • To assess all new technical data from the engine/component manufacturer, airworthiness authorities and follow up with necessary documentation
  • Evaluate engine documentation packages and make assessments to assist in buying engines for overhaul, teardown, repair or lease
  • Be proactive to improve all aspects of the engineering function and be part of continuous improvement activities
  • Carry out tasks given by the Engineering Manager


Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent with aero engine/Airline maintenance experience. Candidates with extensive experience with Aircraft Engines type CFM56-3, CFM56-7B or CFM56-5B, will also be considered for this position.
  • 2+ years’ Engineering experience in either Airline or Overhaul Shop Powerplant Engineering
  • Good knowledge of Powerplant Systems
  • Good business acumen
