About the role:
The IT Business Analyst (IT BA) position is the liaison between one or several business areas and the IT organization ensuring an effective service delivery. This role is also responsible for providing functional support for business systems. This includes providing advice about how relevant SAP S/4 Hana modules can be exploited. The IT BA develops solution concepts and business cases for new information technology investments, and lead projects related to assigned business area.

Accountability & End Result:

The IT Business Analyst is accountable for transforming business strategies in the Operations & Maintenance business are into IT requirements and contribute with support of an effective Portfolio Management withing the IT department.

The IT BA is also responsible for key business information technology initiatives include planning, scheduling, monitoring, reporting, and implementing project activities.

Assigned roles, responsibilities, procedures and other:

• Manage customer relations involving IT services, costs and needs.
• Understand business processes end-to-end and initiate improvements/changes to processes and/or systems.
• Partner with other IT groups to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Develop business case and project plan. Obtain Business and IT management approvals.
• Follow-up and/or lead IT projects. Report project progress to steering group.
• Key decision maker in the software lifecycle management for customer group(s) to ensure optimal business application portfolio.
• Participate in establishment of new IT contracts, and ongoing vendor relationship management.
• Act as the customer’s advocate to address operational and delivery issues towards IT.
• Follow up on customer group’s Business Continuity Plan and IT Disaster Recovery Plan.
• IT change management activities - work closely with the key business contacts for management of major IT changes.
• Actively seek information about new technologies relevant to area of responsibility.

Required skills:

• Bachelor or Master degree – either in Information Technology or a relevant business area
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Customer focused
• Analytical capabilities; transforming business needs into clear IT functional specifications
• Ability to see the “big picture” in business process and systems terms
• Problem solving skills, ability to analyse root causes and suggest process/systems improvements
• Excellent communication skills – able to communicate at all levels (oral/written, Norwegian and English)
• Good technical and business/industry knowledge
• Confidence to challenge status quo and present alternative solutions to improve business

Preferred skills:

• Good Lean Agile and project management skills
• Good knowledge of software lifecycle management
• Good knowledge in business process mapping
• Good knowledge of system architecture
• Good knowledge of systems integration planning and test planning & execution

Work location:
The work location is in our office in Tananger, outside Stavanger. We offer home office arrangement.
