Skilled Ski Guides are passionate nature enthusiasts, who can’t get enough of leading people into magnificent scenery. We are looking for those who want to have the Northern Norwegian mountains as their “classroom”, where your enthusiasm and experience give our guests the optimal, safe experience.
In addition to mastering nature, we are looking for those who are just as confident on an interpersonal level and know how to handle challenges head on, a knowledge you have gained through long experience.
On a daily basis you will work with guiding guests from all over the world. Leading groups into the jaw-dropping Lofoten mountains in the world’s most beautiful archipelago. You will also potentially run avalanche safety courses & workshops at our basecamp. During the summer there will be opportunities to guide in climbing, hiking and kayaking.
Daily work includes guiding, but it also includes safety routines, avalanche forecasting, route planning, gear maintenance, internal education and helping develop our skiing concept. As a ski guide you are involved in establishing and improving the routines of all focus related to skiing.

This is a winter / spring season position to begin with, but can be extended over the summer with our summer activities.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be a ski enthusiast & teamplayer
• Overseeing ski guidining logistics and safety routines
• Participate in the collaboration with your team members
• Strive to improve safety routines and participate in documentation of solid processes
• Research and document new routes in the areas we operate, and provide route examples that can be promoted by our sales teams
• Constantly find ways to improve the product you work with, and relay feedback to senior management
• Collect media through GoPro to be used in promotional materials
• Be flexible to assist in other areas of the business, when the ski activity bookings are low

Essential Requirements:

• Proficiency in ski guiding
• Safety oriented and sufficient experience/certification to handle emergency situations
• Ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations with guests
• Excellent communication skills and intercultural competence
• Professional and friendly demeanor
• Maintain supportive relationships with colleagues
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized
• Thorough attention to detail without neglecting the bigger picture
• Creativity and optimism in problem-solving
• Willingness to accept and learn from mistakes
• You are simply confident in yourself, professionally and in relation to others

Minimum Qualifications:

• UIAGM / IFMGA
• Experience from ski guiding in Northern Norway
• Drivers license ( B license)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant secondary experience, or certificate or experience in hospitality, logistics & operations, customer relations, bookings, or related field
• Fluent in oral and written Norwegian
