We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer.

What will you be doing?
Perform a complete a set of activities within the RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) discipline as part of subsea projects, studies or tenders e.g.:

• Development of the RAMS program and planning the RAMS scope, including delegating work to others
• Oversee, lead and check the work of less experienced RAMS engineers
• Perform complex RAM analysis and produce RAM analysis report
• Lead HAZOP, HAZID, FMECA and FMEDA workshops
• Perform Cause&Effect and interlock studies and produce relevant documentation
• Take ownership for the delivery of IEC 61508&11 (SIL) documentation on system level according to Aker Solutions global procedure(s)
• Contribute and lead design reviews, both internally and with client
• Responsible for following up and leading technical discussions towards client’s RAMS engineers in studies and projects
• Help maintain and improve Aker Solutions global procedures for IEC61501&11 compliance

We think you should have:

• Masters Degree in relevant disciplines (e.g. RAMS, Cybernetics, System Engineering, Statistics) or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree may also be acceptable.
• Preferably 10 years of relevant work experience
• Formal functional safety (SIL) certification is preferred
• Proactive and innovative attitude with structured and solution- oriented mindset
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong ability to quickly understand technical issues and learn how to perform new tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both within own team and towards many other internal stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
• Good contractual and commercial awareness
