Quantity Surveyors - Sotra Connection Project

IKM Rada is searching for Quantity Surveyors on behalf of our client Sotra Link Construction JV. If you have experience within calculating and assessing quantities within construction or from infrastructure projects, this might be your opportunity to take part of the largest infrastructure contract in the Norwegian history. The position is located in Knarrevik (Litlesotra).

Job description

• Assistance, support and guidance to Contract Management and related functions, in relation to subcontract management issues both towards the client (contractual progress, variations, claims, etc.)
• Assistance in the management of subcontracts, the correct interpretation and implementation of administrative and contractual obligations, ensuring their compliance with the specific contractual requirements of the project
• Quantities take-off and/or site measurements when required, preparation of Bills of Quantity and alignment with the Process Code (Preamble)
• Monitor and update changes to quantities, drawings, specifications etc.
• Support, analysis and review of claims to the client and processing claims from subcontractors, including details of additional costs
• Identification of variations and preparation of Variation Order Requests
• Support and preparation of monthly Payment Applications 
• Support, analysis and approval of subcontractor's Payment Applications
• Support, cost management and contractual administration of subcontractor's accounts
• Support and settle subcontractors final accounts
• Support and preparation of Monthly Reports

Qualifications and work experience

• Civil Engineering University Degree or equivalent
• Experience in similar positions in administration in civil construction works
• Good knowledge of contractual standards, form of contracts and standards method of measurement (NS 8415, NS 3420, Handbook R761 - advantageous minimum knowledge is essential)
• Fluent in English and Norwegian, both written and orally 
• Perfect knowledge of all aspects of the contractual process and related working knowledge
• Understanding and working knowledge of the construction process of complex infrastructure projects
• Understanding of key commercial risks and ability to manage the project risk review process and related verifications
