Mission

The Fleet Cyber Security Officer is responsible for managing the fleet cyber risk, ensuring the fleet’s resilience according to the Fleet Cyber Risk Management Policy.


Core Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Fleet Cyber Security Officer and his/her team shall include:

  • Identify, prevent, detect, respond to and recover from cyber incidents on board in collaboration with the OIM, the Vessel Cyber Security Officer, onboard resources and 3rd party suppliers. 
  • Ensure effective cyber awareness training of all relevant personnel, onshore and onboard
  • Set up a robust cyber security verification and audit program for the fleet, including periodic vulnerabilities assessments and penetration testing by sampling.

 

Duties 

The duties of the Fleet Cyber Security Officer are:

Identify:

  • Ensure the critical control systems system inventories and network diagrams are established and maintained up to date for the FPSO fleet
  • Ensure the risk assessments for each FPSO are established, maintained up-to-date and that the OIM is informed
  • Ensure the potential threats and vulnerabilities are identified and addressed

Protect:

  • Ensure the identified preventive, control and mitigation measures identified are effectively implemented in the FPSO fleet to ensure the required cyber resilience.

Detect:

  • Cyber Emergency Contacts shall be established to allow the Vessel Cyber Security Officer and any other crew to report possible cyber incidents. 

Respond and Recover:

  • Organize the onshore cyber emergency response team to be activated in case of a possible cyber incident onboard.
  • The cyber emergency response team is to provide the response and recovery activities, in collaboration with the Vessel Cyber Security Officer, other onboard resources and 3rd party suppliers.

Where required, in collaboration with the Communication Department, the Fleet Cyber Security Officer shall notify required Authorities within the required deadlines.


Qualifications

Preferred required education and experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience 
  • 5 years of related management experience
  • 5 years of experience of maritime OT and IT 
  • 5 years of experience in cyber security of IT and Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
  • CISSP Certification or ability to gain certification within a year of employment. 


Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge and skills required to the Core Responsibilities and Duties defined above: 

  • Ability to lead technical resources both within the company and at third party vendors 
  • Ability to identify and prioritize practical remediation activities based on risk to the overall organization and onboard vessels
  • Experience with best practices and regulations: IMO, NIST Framework, ISO 27001 & IEC 62433
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to influence others. 
  • Proven ability to builds strong relationships with Senior Leadership, IT Staff and peers. 
  • Demonstrates strong organization skills and time management. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects while ensuring deadlines are met.
