Norfund is Norway’s largest specialist investor in emerging markets. We are looking for an investment manager to join the Financial Institutions team investing in sub-Sahara Africa. The team offers risk capital through equity, loans, and fund investments to financial sector companies like commercial banks, microfinance institutions, fintech, insurance, and leasing companies.You will be involved in the full spectrum of our investments from supporting other team members to managing investment processes and establishing professional relationships. Our capital allocation to the fintech sector is increasing and relevant experience will be an advantage. The right candidate can play an important role in the development of this area.
We are seeking a results-oriented person with a strong interest in investments and active ownership. The successful candidate must have the capacity to work both in teams and independently and be a resource for others in our investment departments. The position is based in Oslo and will report to the Vice President Financial Institutions.

Responsibilities and tasks:

Lead or participate as an investment team member in all phases of the investment process from assessing new opportunities to investing, managing, and exiting.
Evaluate potential investments through due diligence, financial modelling and preparation of investment proposals and papers.
Assess risks and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
Contribute to sourcing and development of investment opportunities.
Follow up investments and update portfolio management systems.
Participate in projects and represent in committees.
Support other team members.

Specific qualifications for this position:

Master’s in Business, Economics, Finance or equivalent with strong academic results.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience from investments and/ or the financial sector.
Strong client orientation and ability to build relationships.
Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English.
A team player with strong analytical skills, great attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.
Result oriented with a structured, proactive, and efficient work style.
Investment or other relevant experience from the fintech sector will be an advantage.
