Everything has a story. Every screw. Every wire. Every component. How did it begin? But most importantly, how did it end? Was it a love story? Or a story about betrayal?

We would like to tell you a story. A story about Easee and the footprints we leave behind along our journey. A journey where many challenges will be faced but where every decision is made with love. Love for our planet. Love for each other. And last, but not least – love for ourselves.

Once upon a time, not that long ago (2018)

There were three brave entrepreneurs that had a dream. A dream of making life easier by creating an ecosystem to distribute our limited energy in a smarter and more sustainable way. The first step on the way to creating an ecosystem was developing the world´s smartest electric vehicle charger. Since then, Easee has grown from 3 to 400+ employees located in Norway, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, and France. Easee exports to 23 countries in Europe. Whit the ambition of becoming one of the largest companies in green technology in Europe by 2026, and one of the largest in the world by 2031.

Today our story continues by developing innovative solutions for charging and power management technology, to provide an ecosystem that will give customers a seamless experience from A to Z. You may wonder how? By practicing the powerful vision of shaping the future of electricity and business culture. This means focusing both on developing scalable and future-orientated technology, while also setting the example for what a sustainable organization and people-focused business culture can be. One where values and employees come first. Always.

So, this is where our two worlds meet. We need your story to combine with ours.

We’re looking for an engineer who can combine product development with enhancing the product's life span and decreasing its footprint. You will do this by finding data-driven ways to support sustainable material choices and to extend the useful life of the product itself or the components within, to minimize the carbon footprint we leave behind in our story.

Every story has a beginning. As our Circular Design Engineer, you will be our change evangelist for sustainability by communicating goals and impacting decisions from design phase to end of life. Just as important as how the products are made is also the story of where and how it ends. You will help us reach our sustainability ambition by working to enable us to shift new and existing products from cradle to cradle instead of from cradle to grave. This role is the first of its kind at Easee and you will join our passionate sustainability team.

Your mission:

Actively engage and contribute towards implementing circularity at Easee.

We would like you to take extreme ownership of design for circularity in Easee by:

  • Evaluating engineering solutions from a circular perspective and proposing alternatives for enabling circularity to our engineering teams.
  • Using LCA tool to understand the several sustainability impacts of our solutions and drive tasks towards improving the high-risk aspects. e.g., material choice, part weight optimization, secondary process choices etc.
  • Ensuring engineering and manufacturing decisions incorporate aspects like extend-useful life, repair, refurbishment, part harvesting, and recycling which eventually enable circularity for our products. This includes materials overview, circular design risks, and mitigation plan for high-risk decisions.

Your story, passion and drive can combine with our sustainability team by:

  • Collaborating with internal teams like engineering, operations, RMA, and marketing to be a part of writing Easee's story towards implementing circular economy.
  • Implementing “circularity guidelines” to assist adoption and “circular product Score” system to evaluate progress.
  • Reviewing other sustainability impacts with the sustainability team for relevant circular decisions and proposals made.
  • Using insights from operational circularity work to contribute to the development of Easee’s sustainability strategy.

So, what is your story? And who do we think you are?

We believe you have a bachelor or equivalent in mechanical, manufacturing, chemical, electrical engineering, or other technical competence that gives you an understanding of product development and manufacturing. It’s also important that you have an understanding and passion for how to work with circularity. You could also have experience with project management and implementation.

Engaging: You will be translating sustainability into tangible actions for a technical audience. Therefore, we would like you to be able to engage and convey complex information and sell circularity internally in the different teams.

Analytic: You like working with complex data to identify key sustainability pain points. Also, you find it interesting monitoring developments in our product footprint across a range of indicators.

Ambitious on behalf of circularity: Must have a sincere drive and ambition on behalf of making Easee´s products range as sustainable as possible.

Do you feel inspired to go on this journey with us? Can our stories combine and merge into the greatest story ever told?

Along your journey, you will face challenges, but you will also feel empowerment, love, and acceptance. Easee is not for everyone. To become our Circular Design Engineer you must understand, recognize, and want to work for the vision and goals of Easee. This also means that you commit to working to become the best version of yourself.

You will be working from our fresh and funky HQ in Sandnes. Feel free to send your application and remember to pack an umbrella if you are considering moving.
