As an Operations Manager you will have the overall responsibility for the manufacturing plant in Stavanger. You will manage operations with effective reporting, purchasing and negotiation skills, as well as continuous focus on costs of production. As an Operations Manager you will be coordinating projects and working on efficiency improvements to improve material flow, quality and productivity.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organise, lead and control the daily operations in order to meet assigned financial objectives including full P&L responsibility
  • Participate in Identifying & develop new business opportunities and contacts.
  • Effectively qualify opportunities, understanding the needs of our customers and demonstrating value add
  • Execute projects to client satisfaction, on time and within the budget with the correct quality
  • Understand the competition and ensure manufacturing offer competitive products
  • Maximise profitability for the business by driving improvements in cost structures including manufacturing efficiency and sourcing/purchasing cost improvements
  • Manage efficiently the resource pool (in-sourcing and out-sourcing) to avoid under-recovery
  • Achieve a culture of continuous improvement and engagement by all people to make processes more efficient
  • Implement strategies in alignment with {BU}’s global strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Maintain and develop NOV image and reputation through exemplary conduct and behaviour with specific adherence to ethics policy.
  • Maintain company KPIs and ensure targets are communicated to Managers, use operational metrics to root cause analyse any problems
  • Advise on and implement production methods and techniques whilst preparing justifications for new capital expenditure
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Develop robust internal processes to ensure material and resource requirements are available to meet actual and forecast sales demand
  • Accomplish plant objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements, allocating resources, reviewing progress and making mid-course corrections
  • Utilize NOV specialist support functions in order to develop, monitor people skills and achieve business goals
  • Establish a cadence from the staff (at least monthly) to the shop floor to review actual performance (check) to KPIs and business targets and establish appropriate countermeasures to adjust
  • Develop an effective team structure with communication to get people engaged and focused on the top priority business needs
  • Provide QHSE leadership ensuring personal/team compliance with legislation and Company policies and drive a culture that health and safety is our top priority

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in a relevant subject (business administration, management, industrial technology or industrial engineering) and/or Operational experience in a relevant industry (essential).
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management (essential).
  • Understanding of ERP business processes and systems (desirable).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with proven success in an operations management role (essential).
  • Financial and account reporting experience (desirable).

SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

  • Languages: English and Norwegian (essential).
  • Strong skills in budget development and oversight (essential).
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service (essential).
  • Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes (desirable).
