About the position

We’re looking for a talented Costing Responsible - Materials, to join our RD&D team!

As Norrøna’s Costing Responsible - Materials, you will be responsible for further strengthening the relation with our existing material suppliers as well as screen and on-board potential new material suppliers according to our sourcing and CSR strategy.

You will be responsible for costing and commercial terms on all materials Norrøna uses in our products, to help ensure that our company meets its margin target on the final product.

Within this lies also the responsibility to ensure that our PLM system is correct as well as the need to negotiate directly with our partners globally.

We believe you are an experienced purchaser, KAM or controller with larger accounts on your track records.

The role is a part of Norrøna’s RD&D Department and reports to the Head of Sourcing, Costing & Quality.

The role requires some travel for work when necessary, for example to Asia and Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate prices, terms and flexible minimums towards our material suppliers
  • Ensure correct prices and best terms in our PLM system
  • Screening and on-boarding of potential new suppliers
  • Develop routines and systems to ensure valid quality certifications at all times
  • Be a resource within souring and consolidation of materials and material suppliers to improve our performance related to commercial agreements, volumes, and CSR strategy

Personal qualities

  • You have an economic, analytic and result driven mindset that pushes both Norrøna and our partners in the right direction
  • You execute on both small and big tasks
  • You are detail oriented and finish what you start
  • You are proactive in identifying the main cause of issues and you suggest, and execute, on solutions
  • You know how to structure a busy work schedule, with flexibility in working forms and tasks
  • You know the devil is in the details

We believe you’ll succeed in this job if

You thrive with improvements and optimization of workflow, you are digital in your mindset and interested in how to optimize cost, quality and capacity through digital tools.

You communicate fair and clear, and you are not afraid to negotiate even if there are opposing interests involved. You are self driven and proactive, not afraid to initiate and host meetings to find solutions.

Qualifications

  • Relevant bachelor or master’s degree
    • Relevant experience can make up for lack of relevant education
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Fluent in English is a requirement
  • Proven performance history within negotiation (International).
  • Experienced purchaser, KAM or controller with larger accounts on your track records.

Why this is a great opportunity

  • A unique opportunity to work within an organization with a full stack value chain
  • A social and professional environment with highly motivated, result oriented and competent colleagues
  • We can offer highly competitive insurance benefits, a competitive pension scheme, company cabin and discount on purchases of Norrøna products
  • Work location at Norrøna House at Lysaker, a multi hub containing Norrøna offices, Norrøna Flagship Store, Norrøna Event facilities and a brand new Norrøna Restaurant concept - opening in 2023
