We see a significant increase in the number of electrical design review workshops requested by our clients. These design review workshops are often performed based on our own ELHAZ concept. This is a systematic review method using techniques known from HazID and HazOP, aimed at uncovering potential design problems while they still can be corrected. A prereview of project documentation is carried out before the main workshop meeting, and the meeting includes plant operator, main contractors, and equipment suppliers. To maximize effectiveness of the workshop, the ELHAZ leader and his/her team must have a good overview of the design requirements and documentation prior to the workshop.

We are looking for one or more candidates holding an MSc or a PhD degree, with relevant experience ranging from 10 years up to senior adviser level, within electrical power system design engineering that can lead such workshops. Your work description will also include study work in our other projects, including system design engineering, electrical system analyses and many other engineering tasks requested by our client. We look for candidates that wish to work with other specialists as a recognized specialist and adviser to our customers.

Unitech Power Systems AS was established in 1985 and was owned by employees until February 2022, when all shares were acquired by Aker Solutions Holding AS. Unitech Power Systems still operates as an independent specialist consultancy with the same management as prior to the acquisition. However, the new ownership offers new and exciting opportunities with a clear long-term strategy, especially in the international energy transition market.

We have offices in Stavanger, Oslo and Fredrikstad and successful candidates can be in any of these locations.

We are particularly looking for candidates from Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas sectors with experience in one or more of the following relevant areas for ELHAZ reviews:

·        System design engineering

·        Electrical system calculations and analyses

·        Protective Devices

·        Operations and incident investigations

·        Electrical Control Systems

·        Electrical Safety

·        Ignition Source Control 

·        Key components such as converters, transmission cables, reactive compensation, transformers and rotating machines
