The negative effects of climate change are more and more impacting people's lives and livelihoods across the world. To face these challenges Plan works with communities to build resilience and ensure local food security. Often in volatile conflict zones, the short and longer term consequences for youth and especially girls is detrimental. Plan International Norway wants to take an active role to strengthen the capacities of girls, women, youth and other marginalised groups for resilience and climate change adaptation, and ensure food security and economically viable livelihoods. We are therefore strengthening our team and is looking for a new colleague with a passion for making a lasting impact for the most marginalised. Are you our new expert in Food Security, Livelihoods and Climate Change?
Would you like to work with the following?
- Be Plan International Norway's technical expert on Food Security, Livelihood and Climate Change
- Identify opportunities and initiate new projects in line with Plan International's Norway’s strategy
- Follow-up on programme implementation and reporting in collaboration with colleagues in Norway and our priority countries.
- Provide thematic programme support and quality assurance throughout the program/project cycle
- Actively engage in building strong relationships with colleagues throughout the federation
- Provide capacity building and trainings
- Contribute to the mobilization of political and financial support through advocacy efforts and resource mobilization
- Advocate for political change within area of expertise and to support Plan Internationals strategic goals
Do you have the following profile?
- Thorough theoretical and applied knowledge within Food Security, Livelihoods and Climate Change
- Up-to-date on relevant, current global discourse
- Innovative and creative approach to developing and supporting projects/programmes.
- Solid understanding of guiding principles and standards relevant to the sector.
- Business-minded and open to look for new solutions
- Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, research and learning.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in Norwegian and English. French an asset
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions to execute own goals
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of project cycle management and grant management
- A sense of humour and a light mind
