About the position

CICERO Shades of Green is providing a unique opportunity for full-time Analysts to join our exciting journey in the growing field of green and sustainable finance.

We at CICERO Shades of Green provide external independent opinions on financial instruments such as green bonds, which are intended to finance green projects and support a low-carbon and sustainable future for all. Our assessments involve the evaluation of social issues for sustainability bonds and alignment with the ?minimum social safeguard" criteria in the EU Taxonomy.By providing our opinions we create critical transparency for lenders and investors interested in sustainable investments. Our product suite includes providing independent opinions on green and sustainable finance, sustainability-linked instruments, as well as green equity through company assessments.

Successful candidates will work across our products and maintain key roles in undertaking research and analysis in executing our products, building customer relationships, and supporting our business development. The position offers substantial personal and professional growth opportunities and the opportunity to have a direct impact on the green and sustainable finance field as well as our customers' journey towards sustainability.

Responsibilities / What you'll do
  • Analyzing our customers' financing frameworks, sustainability and annual reporting, policies, financials, and other documentation. You will be critically evaluating the information, writing reports, and communicating assessment results.
  • Analyzing social risks and impacts, including human rights, worker rights, bribery, corruption, taxation, and fair competition.
  • Leading and managing project processes from start to finish across our product suite. Our customers include globally recognized companies and leading financial institutions, and you will be communicating with senior management.
  • Undertaking other work including methodology development, product development, sector-specific research, and other research projects.
  • Supporting senior-level management and participating in sales and marketing, customer relationship building, and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Delivering significant transformational and visible impact both internally and externally by putting sustainability and climate best practices in action on real-world challenges.

Qualifications - required
  • A relevant master's degree, including but not limited to social sciences, human rights, business, economics, journalism, or equivalent.
  • Track record of experience in sustainability, ESG, sustainable finance, human rights, and other social issues. This can include scholarships, coursework, research, affiliations, or other indicators.
  • Ambition to work in a dynamic, results-oriented, and multi-cultural environment which requires continuous learning with help of our supporting colleagues and organization.
  • Outstanding analytical and writing skills.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and spoken language).
  • Critical thinking skills, independent, motivated, able to manage shifting customer timelines, and ability to work well in a team.

Qualifications - preferred
  • At least one year of professional experience (including internships) in the field of sustainability, ESG, human rights, and other social issues.
  • Additional languages.
  • Comfort working with numbers.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
