Are you our next Legal Counsel?

Aker BioMarine is looking for a lawyer to fill the role as Legal Counsel. As part of your role, you will be tasked with managing our work within tax and compliance. The right candidate will be a professional with a can-do attitude which can help us strengthen our department within legal advisory in general and within tax matters in particular. Although we work closely as a team you can expect a lot of responsibility right from the start.

Group Legal is a section consisting of 3 legal advisors, and we are now looking to add to our team. Group Legal is an important advisor to the business, and as a Legal Counsel at Aker BioMarine you will be exposed a wide variety of legal questions and challenges. This role will be the main point of contact for tax and compliance-related matters within Group Legal, and with a good chance to take ownership also for other areas and tasks depending on experience and desires. You can expect to learn a lot from being a trusted advisor to a company with a supply chain stretching from catch of krill through processing, production, R&D, business and product development and all the way to sales and marketing.

The candidate we are looking for is a lawyer with a commercial mindset and experience within tax advisory. Experience within Compliance is also an asset. The role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership to important areas within our business with great growth opportunities.

The Legal Counsel will be a part of Group Legal which in turn sits within Aker BioMarine’s Finance Department. Together, Group Legal gives advice to stakeholders throughout our business on legal, compliance and tax-related matters. The role will report to the General Counsel. Our professional networks within the wider Aker group will also offer support and growth opportunities.

What you will do:

• Be a part of the Group Legal team tasked with providing legal and tax advice to the business
• Be AKBM’s primary specialist within direct and indirect taxes
• Own and follow up the transfer pricing structure and documentation in the group
• Responsibility for optimizing structure when entering new markets
• Contribute with tax advice in connection with various transactions
• Oversee compliance within the organization and oversee proper training and communication of the organization
• Conduct and follow up the company’s ethics & compliance risk assessments to ensure a proactive and targeted approach

• Positive and solution-oriented attitude
• Accurate with great attention to details
• Structured and efficient

Qualifications:

• Master of Laws
• Approximately 5 years of relevant work experience from a law firm, audit firm, from within a multinational group and/or tax administration.
• Experience with transfer pricing and international tax
• Experience with Compliance is an advantage but not a prerequisite
