Opportunity open for Bachelor thesis "Remote Inspection for Unmanned Installations"

Unmanned installations for offshore oil platforms and wind farms is an attractive business model for the energy industry. Great financial benefits and improved HSE are some of the motivators. Remote supervision and inspection of the unmanned installations is a challenge that the technology comes to solve. Constant video surveillance and remote operation of the mobile cameras are some of the requirements. Due to the uniqueness of the installations and the different regulations per industry there is not one solution fits all and this is what makes it even more challenging.  

 
The project requires the following:  

• Research into the state of art of remote control and mobility of surveillance camera equipment using AI (Artificial Intelligence) 
• Demonstration of a functional solution 

 Competence Required:  

• PLC Programming 
• Python 

• Motion control 
• Profinet 
• Familiar with Electrical and Automation concepts 
• Networking 
• Familiar with wireless communication protocols and equipment 

• Some handy mechanical skills
