We are now looking for a Safety Engineer who can contribute to Aibel's exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition

With more than a hundred years of experience, Aibel is a leading supplier within the oil, gas and offshore wind industries. We offer our customers optimal and innovative solutions within engineering, construction, modifications and maintenance throughout the project's life cycle. Exciting, right?

We are now looking for a Safety Engineer. In Aibel you will have the possibility to participate in our renewable energy sector including offshore wind and hydrogen, as well as our oil and gas segment, where low carbon and zero emissions solutions are in focus. Aibel is also performing early phase work and exploration into the fields of synthetic fuels and carbon capture. We will use and develop your skills and talent from the start-up of your career. 

Your responsibilities:

  • You will represent technical safety within area engineering group
  • Use 3D-model (NavisWorks/E3D Design) to ensure that the safety requirements are implemented in design (e.g that location of safety equipment is according to safety requirements)
  • Preparation of input to safety drawings
  • Ensure that the safety strategy is implemented in the area design

As part of the Technical Safety team you will have the opportunity to develop in following areas:

  • Area classification
  • Fire & Gas (F&G) / Emergency Shut Down (ESD)
  • Escape routes and evacuation means
  • Safety Integrity Level (SIL)
  • Passive Fire Protection (PFP)
  • Active Fire Protection
  • Decide requirements for the miscellaneous safety equipments delivered by sub-contractor.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Newly qualified Master's or Bachelor's Degree within relevant topics
  • Relevant working experience (up to two years) related to Technical Safety 
  • The candidate should have both knowledge and enthusiasm for IT tools (e.g. 3D-model, NavisWorks)

Qualifications and personal characteristics:

  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams
  • Be accurate and thorough 
  • Good communication skills
  • Have a high loyalty to deadline and quality requirements
  • Be proactive, seeking advice and share own experiences with others
  • Communicate well in English - both oral and in writing
