CONSULTANT – CLIMATE CHANGE
- Carbon Limits AS
Want to put your skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to learn to tackle climate change? Want a career that’s good for you AND the planet?
As a Consultant at Carbon Limits, you’re going to use your skills to make a real difference, working on critical topics for the current time and for the future such as carbon capture and storage, low carbon hydrogen, biogas, life cycle analyses, reducing methane emissions from the oil and gas sector, or climate policy analysis.
When you join us, you will already have postgraduate degree (master degree or equivalent) as an engineer, industrial ecologist or economist, with excellent academic records. You are eager to learn and to develop your skills both as a consultant and on the topic of climate change mitigation.
From the moment you join the team, you will be using these skills to support NGO and government organisations, and help companies accelerate climate mitigation.
You’re going to see the impact of your work quickly. Working with some of the best climate mitigation experts in the world, your first project may be - for example - to identify the abatement options for an oil and gas company operating in a high impact country, to do data analysis on CCS potential or evaluate a country’s current policy on greenhouse gas emissions. Collecting and analysing data; giving training, helping others to understand methodologies; developing mitigation plans; these and many others, are the types of tasks you might be working on. What we are certain of is that tasks will be varied and require creative problem-solving to fulfil.
As part of our open, dynamic, friendly team, you will be given the support to continue learning and the opportunity to work on many different projects. As you gain experience, you will start managing tasks and then projects and create relationships with clients. From day one, you will have the opportunity to use your creativity not only to address the climate challenge, but also to contribute to Carbon Limits’ growth and development – or to plan our next party!
You will be working at our office in the heart of Oslo, joining a team where positive vibes and great ambitions meet. If you’re the right person to join the team, we can support your work permit application. You will benefit from the excellent work/life balance that is part of Norwegian culture, recognising that time spent with your family and friends or in the nature is important.

The company grew out of the energy and carbon services of ECON (now Poyry Norge), a leading Scandinavian consultancy. With projects in more than 20 countries, Carbon Limits has garnered an extensive experience in the identification and development of emission reduction opportunities in traditional energy sectors, but also in capacity building and policy advice. Our geographical focus includes Africa, Russia, Central Asia, Latin America and Middle East where the company has access to a network of local partners and government contacts. Today we are a diverse team of engineers, economists, and policy experts with a focus on mitigation in the oil and gas sector, carbon and climate finance, emission reduction policies and MRV.
