Statkraft’s International Trainee Programme is a great introduction into working life. You will spend 16-months learning and developing yourself alongside other graduates and start your career in renewables. The programme consists of three job rotations across the company, of which at least one will be abroad. As a trainee, you will participate in various professional development courses and gatherings to acquire new skills and share experiences. You will also get the opportunity to apply for a seat on our CEO-led Future Board initiative – an advisory board made up of trainees and young professionals at Statkraft.  

Job Description

Trainee, Wind and Solar Business Development, Valencia or Madrid, Spain
Our business development team originates Wind and solar projects to increase our pipeline in Spain, the business development team is also responsible for the GIS management, the auction tendering processes and the new business opportunities like batteries or Hydrogen. It is a very multidisciplinary team which together with colleagues across departments looks for the right business opportunities to enable Statkraft’s extensive growth ambitions in Spain. As a trainee in the Business development team, you will: 

• Contribute to increase the project pipeline in the early stage of the project. 
• Conduct market analysis. 
• Support our sustainability team in different aspects. 
• Manage solar, wind and innovation projects (storage, hybrid and hydrogen) from identification of potential projects through to the development phase 
• Help securing all necessary lands through land lease agreements, with external land consultants 
• Evaluate the economic and technical feasibility of projects 
• Manage engineering studies, specialized studies, and the environmental impact assessment of the projects 
• Manage and coordinate with project stakeholders and cooperate with other units of the group 
• Request grid access and help maintaining relationships with government bodies

Qualifications

We need coming graduates who are motivated to be part of the green transition and welcome individuals from different backgrounds that want to help change the world with us. Statkraft is looking for trainees with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions that includes:  

• Master’s degree in science, typically within the natural sciences, energy engineering, business, economics or other relevant fields
• Interest in the renewable energy industry
• Excellent analytical capacity and problem-solving skills
• Ability to quickly understand and process information as well as adapt quickly to new situations
• No more than one year of work experience post education (excluding internships/part-time jobs) 
• Self-driven, commercial thinker and a positive team player
• Fluency in English is required, knowledge of other European languages is an advantage
