About the Position

Due to continued increased activity and healthy business growth, we are looking for Ship Agents/Logistics Coordinators in Ålesund, Bømlo, and Tromsø.

We are looking both for entry level positions and Agents with experience. This opportunity is thus also available for you who is interested in the industry but has no formal experience. It is also open for you who has years of experience and want now to take on new challenges in a company that values your competency.

If applying for an entry level role, you will be learning the many aspects of the position while working side-by-side with a local experienced mentor, supporting operations from day 1. These positions are open to anyone who is sensitive to internal and external customer needs and is excited by the idea of applying this passion in an international, diverse, and inclusive environment. Training will be provided, and the goal is to develop into a fully independent, operational position.

If applying for a Ship Agent or Senior Ship Agent level role, you will receive initial training in our systems and routines and have access to a network of internal experts in all relevant areas. Once you are ready, you will work alongside our Offshore team and in cooperation with our other departments throughout Norway and the GAC world. Within the first few months, we will work with you to identify your strengths and motivations and adapt your role to reflect this.

Much of the duties of these positions do require physical presence, thus we are unfortunately unable to open these opportunities to accommodate those that need or want to work remotely.

Daily Tasks

After adequate training, you will support operations and company strategy while performing the following tasks:

  • Documentation and clearance of ships upon arrival and departure
  • Communication with all involved parties during ships’ port calls
  • Coordinating and arranging crew change and husbandry services
  • Providing logistics services
  • Miscellaneous tasks such as cost control and invoicing for services provided

Other Job details

  • Most tasks can be completed during regular work hours; however, we provide 24/7/365 service and there will be periods of higher workload as well as work during irregular times, such as evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • These positions provide a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of colleagues in the maritime industry in a company that values what each unique individual brings to the table
  • Upon hire, you will cooperate with your leader and others to create a training plan aimed to help you reach your potential
  • Candidates with relevant and non-relevant experience who want to learn a new skill are also welcomed to apply

Desired Qualifications

  • Genuine interest for shipping and knack for coordinating
  • Genuine interest to apply yourself and further develop your competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal Norwegian and English skills

Competencies

  • Exhibits motivation and takes initiative to achieve results
  • Uses structure and organization skills for greater efficiency
  • Problem solving approach to new challenges

  • Equitable salary with automatic increases upon proven competency development
