HUB Ocean is a foundation established by Aker and the World Economic Forum. Our mission – which deeply inspires us - is to change the fate of the ocean by unleashing the power of data, technology and collaboration. We have the ambition to become the world’s collaboration hub. As such, the world’s data and our Ocean Data Platform are at the core of all of our operations.

 

We now seek a Communications and Operations Associate!

We are looking for candidates with the passion and capabilities to change the fate of the ocean – to build this wonderfully innovative hub and unleash the opportunities to link data-driven solutions with the needs of the ocean. 

Your tasks will center around Lifting HUB Ocean brand awareness through articles, events, reports and social media. You will also contribute to HUB Ocean´s public projects, such as the Iliad – Digital Twin of the Ocean. 

Your most important personal skills are to be unafraid, self-going and flexible.

 Responsibilities

  •  To contribute to building a global position for HUB Ocean at events through producing engaging content, aligned with the foundation’s brand, strategy and key messages
  •  To organize and coordinate events for HUB Ocean
  •  Lifting HUB Ocean brand awareness through articles, reports and social media 
  •  Contributing to - and assisting in the management of public projects, such as the Iliad Digital Twin of the Ocean.
  •  To identify, map, and report on stakeholders and processes relevant to HUB Ocean
  •  To assist with administrative tasks
  •  To contribute to HUB Ocean team´s efforts in becoming the world´s hub for all ocean data. 

 

Required qualifications and experience 

  •  A Master´s degree in Communications, Sciences or similar. Equivalent informal competence is also of interest 
  •  1-3 years of experience from different tasks across the huge bag called communications
  •  A good pen
  •  Knowledge about ocean management
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills with fluency in English

  •  Enthusiasm and positive interest in contributing to a healthier ocean
  •  Unafraid to take on responsibility and pro-active approach to tasks
  •  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment 
  •  Self-driven, flexible and at the same time organized when it comes to prioritizing tasks 
  •  Able to work within an interdisciplinary, multi-cultural team to achieve objectives within set timelines
