HUB Ocean is a foundation established by Aker and the World Economic Forum. We have the ambition to become the world’s collaboration hub. As such, the world’s data and our Ocean Data Platform are at the core of all of our operations.

HUB Ocean supports the Norwegian industry builder, Kjell Inge Røkke, in his new role as the UN Decade for Ocean Science Special Emissary for Industrial Ocean Data. With a high ambition to share ocean data from industry and match these with open data sources, we are searching for candidates to strengthen our ability to support Mr Røkke’s work while working fully integrated into the HUB Ocean communications team.  

This is an invitation going out to you our new Digital Communications Associate!

The person we are looking for wants to combine her or his newly gained skills in communications with building this wonderfully innovative hub to unleash the opportunities in linking data-driven solutions with the needs of the ocean.  

Your tasks will center around maintaining and growing the footprint of HUB Ocean and the UN Special Emissary of Industrial Ocean Data. You will be hands-on, running all our digital platforms and producing engaging content.

The job is a temporary engagement for one year, with the possibility of prolonging for 1+1 year.

Responsibilities 

•  To contribute to building a global position through visibility on digital platforms for HUB Ocean and the UN Ocean Decade Special Emissary for Industrial Ocean Data. 
•  To produce and publish engaging content to lift HUB Ocean brand awareness 
•  To produce and published engaging content to build awareness around the Special Emissary to reach the goals of Industrial Ocean Sharing.
•  To support our CEO in and on speaking engagements 
•  To run and develop HUB Ocean´s home pages and our Social platforms
•  To assist in organizing events for both HUB Ocean and the UN Special Emissary. 
•  To contribute to HUB Ocean team´s efforts in becoming the world´s hub for all ocean data. 

Required qualifications and experience 

•  A Master´s degree in Communications, Sciences or similar. Equivalent informal competence is also of interest. 
•  1-3 years of experience from different tasks across the huge bag called communications, and especially digital comms.
•  A good pen for writing, and a good eye for photos and simple graphic design. 
•  Excellent oral and written communication skills with fluency in English
•  Experience from running SoMe accounts professionally and successfully
•  Experience from running and developing home pages professionally, including Google Analytics, SEO and other tools.
