Candidates must be able to demonstrate teaching, supervision, and research competence in accordance with the regulatory requirements for professorial competence. For professorships this must be documented through

If the assessment committee considers that the candidate has made progress towards achieving professorial competence and will be able to apply for promotion within a reasonable time, permanent appointment in the first position will be assessed.
