Subscription is defined as one of the most important strategic focus areas for Schibsted, and subscription as a business model represents great possibilities for the whole Group. Our ambition is that Schibsted will have 20 new subscription services, 2 million subscriptions and 3 Bn NOK in subscription revenues in 2023. This is an ambitious target which requires strong efforts and a continued focus on growth within the subscription area. Subscription as a business area is gathered in the business unit Consumer Business, with approximately 250 employees in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Poland.

Are you our new User data & experimentation specialist?

Our ambition is to become the preferred provider of subscription services in the Media industry. We are continuing to grow and broaden Schibsted's portfolio of subscription offers and we see a large untapped potential in product combinations, i.e. people subscribing to several products, either through bundles or cross-sales.

Common Schibsted Products is a new business unit within Consumer Business that will focus on growing our subscription base by leveraging product combinations. In this role you will be part of a cross functional team of 7-9 that will drive our business development of new subscription concepts leveraging the strengths in Schibsted’s portfolio of brands and partnerships.

You are a data-driven business developer with a LEAN mindset and business acumen. You are motivated by working in interdisciplinary teams, delivering user and business value through smart testing and experimentation. Your role will be to ensure that we have scientific insight on how to build the best product through planning, executing on and analyzing experiments through a variety of channels.

You will report to Head of Business Development & Packaging Hanne Bryntesen Finstad and have a key role in the team.

Your responsibilities:

  • Drive systematic experimentation, A/B testing and effect documentation to optimise concept testing and business development with the intent of converting customers or improve other key performance indicators
  • Perform analyses on user data to gain insights into how activities affect users and key metrics
  • Contribute hands-on in business development, design and analysis of new concepts and user experience, working in interdisciplinary teams with business developers, service designers and similar roles
  • Ensure activities are performed according to LEAN / agile principles and has a documented effect related to other relevant performance indicators
  • Work with brands to drive continuous improvement of business critical flows including paywall, churn, onboarding etc.
  • Be an ‘un-blocker’; help secure speed and momentum in business development through agile processes and thinking outside the box
  • Work closely with service design to feed insight into qualitative testing and concept development

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating growth. Our vision is to create the future of subscriptions, and you will play a key role in making that happen. The role is an excellent match if the following describes you:

  • College- or university level education
  • Experience from working with technical development, design and/or data analysis
  • Experience from IT, media or similar industries is a plus
  • Experience from startup / entrepreneurship is a plus
  • Great understanding of user needs and user experience
  • Very result oriented - a ‘do’er’ that gets things done
  • Highly analytical
  • Passionate about high pace data-driven decision making and hypothesis-based development
  • Experience with quantitative testing (A/B, smoke testing)
  • Experience with LEAN or other agile development frameworks
  • Knowledge of technologies such as JavaScript, HTML & CSS, Python, SQL and R is a plus
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD is a plus
  • A team player who likes to work interdisciplinary teams

You don’t have to be a World Champion in A/B testing, R or experimentation design - the most important thing is that you have technical understanding and a big appetite for learning new things!
