We are looking for a highly motivated Business Continuity Management Specialist to join our Non-Financial Risk team. We are looking for someone with a drive and genuine interest in supporting the business in managing continuity risks. If you have experience in business continuity management or other non-financial risk management, and ideally experience from IT, we’d like to hear from you.

In this role you can contribute to further improve Santander’s BCM management whilst learning a lot and working with talented colleagues across the Nordics in a truly international Bank. The Business Continuity Management Specialist works in Non-Financial Risk team (NFR), which is a part of Risk and Santander Nordic’s second line of defense (2LoD). NFR is responsible for carrying out risk management and control of risk matters within the area of non-financial risk. Non-financial risk includes the areas of operational risk, internal control, business continuity management, cyber & technology risk and vendor risk.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the business continuity governance
  • Ensure the deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement of the business continuity management system
  • Safeguard the adequate execution and maintenance of the business impact analysis (BIA) performed by the Bank’s organizational units, review and challenge the results to ensure accuracy of requirements
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of continuity strategies and the recovery plans in the Bank’s 1LoD functions, to ensure that they are complete, standardized and aligned with the specifications of the corporate business continuity model
  • Coordinate the definition and execution of the testing plans to check the effectiveness of the defined procedures and the coverage of recovery requirements set out in the BIA, and also to detect possible ways of improving the plan
  • Monitoring of review and updates of the processes for the different parts of the continuity plan
  • Define the training and awareness program and ensure responsibilities and authorities for relevant roles are understood and communicated throughout the organization
  • Overseeing management of suppliers associated with critical and high priority processes
  • Monitoring possible regulatory changes in the field of business continuity that could require the model to be updated
  • Organize the regular business continuity management forum (BCM forum)
  • Manage the business continuity reporting and communication to relevant internal management committees, Board Risk Committee, Board of Directors
  • Establish and follow up best practice across the Nordics within the business continuity area
  • Participate in the development and implementation of initiatives in the area of non-financial risk

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant working experience, preferably within the banking sector. Experience from IT is valuable
  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance or IT related fields
  • Business continuity knowledge as well as knowledge about existing regulations in these areas
  • High level and proven proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel

  • Strong drive, efficient, proactive attitude and willing to go the extra mile
  • Ability to prioritize and manage different deliverables while quickly adapting to changing priorities and demands
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and in teams, combining leading and coaching/supportive roles with strong problem-solving competence
  • Highly structured and process oriented with strong planning and organizing skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken). Scandinavian languages are an advantage
