Production Test Engineer

Candidate profile

You are a programmer, preferably with knowledge in Python. You have some knowledge in digital electronics and enjoy spending time in an electronic lab. You are a team player who wants to collaborate with an experienced and international team. You excel in your work, take pride in it and continuously want to improve. You are passionate and will go the extra mile. You always act responsible with integrity and fairness. And finally, you also like to have a lot of fun! Fluency in English is required, and one Scandinavian language is preferred. Any additional language skills are advantageous.

Role

You will be a part of our QA team and work with the introduction of new products into volume production. The position includes planning and development of automated function tests for new and existing products. During different stages of the test development, you will need to collaborate with the internal software, firmware and hardware teams. Additionally, you will need to collaborate remotely with the external production partner engineers.

You will have the opportunity to go on daytrips to the advanced electronic production facilities of our production partners in Norway. You will gain first-hand experience of electronic production, as well as observing your test systems in operation. As a production test development engineer, you will be in a dynamic position that will give you a specialized knowledge of hardware, software and the interaction between them for market leading digital video delivery technology.

Qualifications

• You have a BS/MS degree in Electronics or equivalent
• You are a programmer, preferably in Python
• Familiarity with one or more of the following is a plus: NI TestStand, Linux (Bash), Git, electronic lab measurement equipment, IP networking
• You have some experience in reading HW documentation such as Schematics and PCB layouts
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Derive test specifications with the Hardware team, but also with the help from the Software and Firmware teams
• Develop automated function tests for verifying hardware production using Python and NI TestStand
• Support production site engineers with test implementation
