Permanent position as Senior Scientist available at Nykode Therapeutics, Vaccine Discovery! We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Scientist with expertise from immunology, molecular and cellular biology who would like to join our Vaccine Discovery - Vaccine Technology team here in Oslo.

Job Title: Senior Scientist, Vaccine Discovery

As a Senior Scientist, you will be an essential member of the Vaccine Discovery team, the Research department, and the company. You will conceptualise ideas and drive the design, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art methods needed for testing novel concepts of our cutting-edge technology for the advancement of immunotherapy within oncology, infectious diseases, and immune tolerance. Your creativity and experience will be essential for contributing to our strategy of delivering future breakthrough medicines.

A Senior Scientist represent one of the highest levels of scientific excellence at Nykode Therapeutics and is expected to be a scientific leader that continues to take a scientific lead within areas of expertise. You will work directly with our ongoing exploratory technology activities and take part in cross-functional teams.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Initiate, plan, and execute laboratory work to support Nykode’s innovation strategy
• Coordination of and responsibility for defined subprojects or processes in drug discovery, development, or technology projects
• Proactive driving force and scientific responsible in project groups and team within field(s) of competency
• Train and mentor other staff within your field of expertise, with accountability for their development
• Perform experimental and statistical analysis and deliver well-documented and valid results within designated areas of responsibility according to project plans and timelines
• Support and lead establishing/implementing novel In Vitro state of the art laboratory methods
• Responsible for planning, executing, and interpreting results of experiments performed at clinical research organizations (CROs)
• Be an active contributor in multi-disciplinary teams, liaise with other departments and externally with collaborators and other stakeholders in a true collaborative manner
• Support immunotherapy construct design and construct validation
• Contribute to generate data and write patent applications
• Write and revise WINs, SOPs, or other documents according to Nykode’s Quality Management System
• Expertise in planning, organize, monitor, and coordinate project assignments, from protocol design through to archiving

Education and experience requirements

• International scientific excellence, PhD degree or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years working experience from industry or academia within immunology, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or similar relevant fields
• Scientific excellence and experience documented by filed patent applications, publications, international presentations etc.
• Experienced in statistical analysis and reporting of the research results
• Significant expertise in working on research projects within immunotherapy technologies such as vaccines or antibodies (generation, purification, screening, functional assays etc.)
• Excellent overview and expertise in a high number of in vitro and in vivo assays
• Work experience with CROs or/and academic collaborators
• Expertise in Molecular Biology, construct-design, and validation of DNA plasmids
• Experienced in writing laboratory notebooks and reporting scientific results in terms of e.g., developmental reports, scientific presentations, etc
