Main responsibilities and tasks
Responsible for the design, drawings and the basis of calculation that is delivered to the project, including preparation of documentation in accordance with the requirements of the project
To complete full documentation packs for relevant parts of the qWave tools including preparing specifications and carrying out relevant calculations and modelling
To participate in the review and approval process for design work prepared by others within the engineering team
To define requirement specifications and overlook the production of component parts by third party suppliers, including monitoring the manufacturing process and carrying out quality control of delivered products
To prepare procedures for assembly of relevant qWave equipment and carry out qualification testing, including the preparation of test reports
To participate in the assembly, testing, and FAT testing of the qWave tools
To develop product related procedures and routines as required for the operation and maintenance of qWave tools
To follow-up commercial deployment of qWave tools and equipment as required to ensure knowledge is captured and fed back into the design process
To identify new technical solutions and potential suppliers that can improve qWave product design
To identify potential IP and prepare IP documentation.
Qualifications
Engineering degree (BSc, MSc or equivalent) although relevant experience can compensate formal education;
Five to ten years of relevant engineering design experience, preferably with some from the Oil & Gas sector; including experience within hydraulics and electronics disciplines.
Experience with designing
Good understanding of engineering practices and quality procedures
Proven ability to work systematically and independently in design and problem solving
Good communication skills and functions well in a team environment.

qWave is a Stavanger based R&D company with a vision to develop and commercialize a range of tools and services for perforation, testing, stimulation and cleaning of oil & gas wells. A prototype of our first formation stress testing tool is currently being developed and tested as part of a joint interest industry project supported by several operating companies. This tool will be applicable both to oil & gas wells but also to ensure maximised and safe carbon (CO2) storage and will therefore contribute to the energy transition and reduced carbon emissions. The range of tools and services to be developed are based on a new technology invented by qWave.
