Non-Financial Risk Advisor

As Non-Financial Risk Advisor you will, together with the NFR Advisory team, be responsible for the monitoring, cooperation and support of the functional areas of the bank, for all NFR-related activities. We believe that operational risk is everyone’s business and that risk should be assessed in every business decision. In order to succeed in operational risk management we need to have a close cooperation and good relations with the functional areas of the bank, but also have close cooperation with the other teams in the second line of defense (NFR support team, Cyber & Technology Risk Control team and Compliance).

Your daily tasks will include

• Quality assurance on all input to all non-financial risk instruments (operational risk indicators, operational risk events, internal controls, scenario analysis, risk statements and more) from the functional areas
• Follow-up on mitigation activities carried out in the bank
• Monitoring that risk levels and business processes are consistent with the risk appetite and with external requirements
• Contribution to the development and management of the operational risk coordinator network
• Contribute to preparation of training material and carry out the training
• Lead or participate in the development and implementation of non-financial risk initiatives
• Facilitate workshops and risk review meetings with first line of defense

We expect

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Business or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of work experience. Experience from IT or business development is valuable
• Ability to simplify complex topics both in writing and in dialogue
• Fluent in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Norwegian or any other Nordic language would be an advantage
• Knowledge of risk management including internal and external regulations

You are proactive and solution oriented, a strong relationship builder passionate about risk management and you want to strengthen the bank’s risk culture by promoting a forward-looking management of non-financial risk. You have a strong understanding of a bank’s business and the importance of risk management in order to achieve business goals and ambitions.

The NFR Advisory team is overall responsible for the cooperation with and monitoring of the functional areas of the bank (Commercial, Technology & Operations, Compliance and Conduct, etc), and as NFR Advisor you will be responsible for direct support and oversight of non-financial risk management in a given function.

You will join a team of non-financial risk advisors whose goal is to make Non-Financial Risk management simple by close cooperation, training, support and by challenging the functional areas in order to be a responsible bank. We achieve this by relationship management skills combined with our team’s diverse background and NFR expertise.

The Non-Financial Risk Management area is part of Risk and Santander Nordic’s second line of defense. NFR is responsible for carrying out risk management and control of risk matters within the non-financial risk area, including operational risk, internal control, business continuity management, cyber & technology risk, vendor risk and fraud risk.

Location is Stockholm or Copenhagen, but other Nordic locations can be considered.
