We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to contribute to our growing business! If you have newly graduated you are welcome to apply.

The candidate will be part of the technical team in the Energy product line and shall be built up and trained for the engineering, construction, supervision and commissioning support of energy handling systems for marine applications. Høglund’s contribution to the decarbonization of the shipping industry is done by delivering of solutions for the transition market, such as marine LNG fuel systems and gas handling systems for gas carriers, but also in the development of solutions for handling of future fuels such as ammonia, hydrogen, methanol or carbon neutral solutions.


Work tasks through on the job training will typically be:

  • Develop and verify instrument lists and equipment lists from Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams and other supplier documentation.
  • Engineering of electric systems, including make documentation, equipment selection and supporting vendor follow-up.
  • Design of Instrument and electrical arrangements, such as instrument hook-up drawings, pneumatic or hydraulic line or cable tray routings by use of 3d modelling software.
  • Design input and engineering support to mechanical- and process design.
  • Intrinsic-safety circuit calculations and general Ex equipment engineering. 
  • Cooperation with other disciplines in a project team.


We are looking for a candidate who can tick off these competencies:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or Electro & Automation Engineering.
  • 1-3 years experience or newly graduate.
  • Proactive and self propelled workstyle. 
  • Good working proficiency in written and oral English language. 
  • Collaborative and problem solving attitude.


Furthermore, following skill-set would support the application:

  • Software knowledge: AutoCad Electrical, AutoCad Plant 3d.
  • Familiar with the maritime industry and operator/charterer/shipyard. 
  • Rules and Regulations applicable to gas handling marine equipment, namely IGC and IGF codes, as well as typical industry standards.
  • Multi discipline understanding for mechanical machinery/piping, electro, instrumentation and automation.
