Elkem Silicon Products Development AS is responsible for innovation for our silicon, foundry and materials business. To strengthen the competence in the refractory business segment the materials team is looking for a new colleague. Do you want to join the team developing new sustainable products to the refractory business? If hired, you will be part of a team of dedicated scientists, located in Kristiansand, Norway.

We are looking for a person with strong technical understanding related to design and application of refractory materials.

Most important areas of responsibility:

• Technical project management for new product development and open innovation activities
• Technical customer- and technical sales support for new and existing products
• Activities related to qualification of existing and new products
• Support development of lab capabilities in Elkem labs globally

Qualifications required for the position:

• PhD or MSc in refractory materials, material science, physics or chemistry
• Experience in R&D and/or technical support
• Industrial experience from refractory business would be beneficial
• Technical project management skills
• Fluent in English, both written and oral

The position reports to Director Materials Innovation. Some travelling will be required.
