Static Mechanical Engineer - Project


You will be a member of the mechanical team in the Engineering organization within Aker BP Operations and seconded to the NOAKA project. The position reports to the System Integration Lead within the NOAKA project. The position requires co-location at contractors engineering house in Oslo. You will demonstrate strong commitment to the HSSE, integrity and mechanical standards within Aker BP when carrying out the responsibilities, delivering safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Typical tasks will include:

  • Participate in field engineering and concept systems engineering for field optimization, system design and evaluation of mechanical equipment and packages
  • Participate in / lead studies on selected topics related to concept optimization and maturation of systems including mechanical equipment and its interfaces
  • Technology assessment and implementation, and collaboration with alliance partners where they have relevant expertise
  • Work integrated with the project alliance organization and provide operator experience and competence
  • Execution / coordinate work of equipment evaluation and preparation for selection
  • Selection of equipment with required capacity, performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Contribution to project and package specifications
  • Procurement of equipment
  • Procurement follow-up and testing
  • Ensure evaluation Aker BP additional requirements for Mechanical Equipment
  • Strive to ensure synergies from NOAKA across to Aker BPs operated assets and other projects
  • Risk assessments related to static mechanical equipment
  • Contribute to mechanical professional networks and contribute to best practice

Qualifications

  • MSc or BSc. in Engineering. Relevant experience can compensate
  • 5-10 years relevant work experience
  • Fluent in English. Preferably fluent in Norwegian
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements, and national and international standards for mechanical systems and equipment
  • Experience from rotating equipment is also highly valued
  • Design and procurement of static equipment
  • Condition monitoring and diagnostics of mechanical equipment
  • Offshore installation and commissioning experience
  • Experience working in multidiscipline teams and handling interfaces
  • Technology development experience is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of tools and methods for analytical work
