Working in Digitalization, Trading & Origination (T&O) 

As part of the Trading & Origination Department, the Digitalization Unit is an exciting and newly established division with the specific remit of driving forward T&O’s digitalisation agenda. The Digitalization Unit will play a crucial and fundamental role in enabling that the Trading & Origination Department delivers on its strategic targets of expanding both the proprietary trading and customer service businesses.

 

The new unit will work in partnership with the Trading & Origination teams building a competitive edge for our commercial business via data and digitalization. Working as part of a high performing team, it is anticipated that the Digitalization Unit will quickly be able to make an impact through innovative process improvements, knowledge share and project delivery. It will also provide an essential strategic partnering bridge between the needs of the business and the IT solutions available.

Job Description

 We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Requirements Analyst to join our team. With the ability to understand the big picture surrounding the solution to be developed, you will work alongside product owners to perform detailed requirement analysis and document ideas into concrete requirements and processes. 

This role can be located either in Oslo or Dusseldorf. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Understanding, gathering, analysing and documenting Front office end-user requirements to ensure that Trading and Origination business needs and objectives are effectively and efficiently met, addressed and delivered
  • Conducting cost-benefit analysis to investigate and evaluate the feasibility and value of a proposed solution
  • Building user stories according to the requirements in order to outline desired outcomes and to ensure that recommended implementations meet acceptance criteria
  • Sharing ideas with, and gathering requirements from, key stakeholders by using requirement elicitation techniques such as brainstorming, focus groups and workshops
  • Recommending and conceptualising solutions, acting as a critical interface between IT developers, architects and the Trading & Origination businesses
  • Working in close partnership with business users, IT colleagues and other stakeholders, document and communicate results
  • Facilitating and co-ordinating the user acceptance testing process, and assist the testing process with test case preparation to ensure there is a smooth transition to production
  • Preparing end user documentation and manuals, and provide essential training as required

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant education and work experience in the area of Finance, Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
  • A proven understanding of the trading/origination business and commodity markets/various asset classes
  • Experience with business requirement analysis in the energy trading area
  • Excellent knowledge of requirements engineering techniques
  • Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Previous experience with working in agile projects / knowledge of scrum methodology is beneficial
  • Ideally working knowledge of programming, in particular Python
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical thinking, with the ability to bridge the gap between a problem and potential solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate well across various environments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills combined with excellent facilitation skills
  • Fluent in English, both oral and in writing
