We are looking for warranty engineers that will work with warranty operation for the Oslo Tram

On behalf of our customer CAF Norway we are now searching for a Warranty Engineer that will work with warranty operations for the Oslo Tram. You will be reporting to the Oslo Tram Warranty Manager, located at Grefsen.

CAF is to supply the new trams for Sporveien, the urban public transport operator in the capital city of Norway. These 5-module, fully low-floor trams are part of the Urbos range manufactured by CAF.
The tram design includes special features to withstand the demanding weather conditions that are typical of Norway, as well as state-of-the art systems such as the head-up display, anti-collision radar, WiFi, USB chargers, double-sided passenger information display system, etc. The Urbos range of vehicles are intended to reduce their environmental impact throughout their entire useful life, starting with their design, manufacture, energy consumption, right up to their recyclability.


Fundamental roles and responsibilities which are inherent to the position:

• Supervision of the Warranty technicians
• Manage and organize the technicians and the personnel
• Allocate and manage resources to meet the daily production plan
• Manage operational safety issues daily
• Supervise depot operations in designated areas
• Ensure maintenance is undertaken in accordance with the maintenance plan
• Assist with the provision of technical support at incidents of depot
• Carry out work place inspections
• Resolve staff issues or escalate them to the line manager, when appropriate
• Enter all data into the MMS (Maintenance Management System)
• Leading a team to maintain the rolling stock.
• Intermediary between the client and the organization on operational issues.

• Higher Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering Qualification

• Self-motivated professional capable of working remotely from the parent company
•  5 years minimum experience in Warranty of Big electrical equipment/ machinery or electrical infrastructures
• Norwegian and English language fluency, able to discuss complex technical issues on a negotiation
• IT Literat
• Knowledge of Health & Safety

• Effective communication skills, able to communicate in a multi-national and culturally diverse organization
• Team player, works collaboratively and uses influence to gain resolution of issues
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritise own workload
• Planning and organisational skills
