FREYR Battery is on a mission to decarbonize energy and transportation systems globally by producing the world’s most sustainable battery cells.

The first step towards achieving our goals is building battery cell factories in giga scale in Mo i Rana. We will soon be opening the doors to our Customer Qualification Plant – the first industrial scale lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing facility in Norway. Here we will validate and improve technology, materials, and cell designs as we prepare for commercial production at our Gigafactories, positioning FREYR as one of Europe’s largest battery cell suppliers.

We are looking for a Media and Internal Communication Director who can develop and implement a proactive national and international media strategy to support our business. The candidate must be able to build and bring with him/her relationships within media and work in close collaboration with IR and Marketing in actively building our brand and telling our story externally. This role is also responsible for building and leading the internal communication arena in a fast-growing start-up, including supporting the leadership team in their communication activities. Crisis communication and event management will be part of the responsibilities.


Main tasks:

• Develop and implement proactive media strategy across national and international business areas
• Act as press spokesperson
• Write press releases and editorial by-lines
• Spearhead internal communication strategy and execution
• Take lead on event management
• Leadership and crisis communication

We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Proven experience with leading internal and external communication strategies
• Experience with event management
• Experience with crisis communications
• Strong English skills written and oral necessary, Norwegian a plus
