The position shall support the projects with tasks within cost control, progress follow-up, coordination of logistics and otherwise relevant tasks within PMT. The Project Controller shall support the project in adherence to plans, budgets and contractual delivery dates. Key responsibilities includes being proactive in the project organization to ensure that important milestones set forth in the project are met, highlight problem areas as early as possible and in collaboration with the Project Planner protect / lift the margins of the project.

Project Controller will in general contribute to the daily commercial follow-up of the Contract and communication with client as agreed for each project.

• Execute the cost control activities in accordance with client contract requirements and in alignment with Management System.
• Assist project manager in establishing the project work budget based on the sales budget.
• Regular review of forecast vs. original budget with Project Manager, focus on keeping a steady as possible forecast by looking ahead at coming activities, opportunities, and risks.
• Regular look-ahead analysis of financial progress and working capital.
• Timely invoicing to Client, with sufficient level of backup documentation.
• Handle VORs to and VOs from Client in cooperation with Project Manager and Engineering Manager. Keep track of status on VORs. Support in following up that approved VOs are implemented and delivered to Client.
• Control and approval of supplier invoices.
• Initiate and attend meetings to follow up Suppliers cost development / variation order status.

Education 

• Bachelor's degree within Finance/Economics (essential) 
• Masters degree within Finance/Economics (desirable)

Experience 

• Experience from related activities, preferably in the marine industry.
• Senior: Min 5-10 year experience of related activities preferably from the industry.
• Proven skills as being a contributing force in relevant type of projects to deliver on time and on budget.

Skills 

• Good English written & verbal skills (essential)
• Good knowledge in Excel (essential) 
• ERP-systems such as Oracle (desirable) 
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Independent and able to work in a cross cultural environment
• Good negotiation skills
• Focus on details
