Plan International Norway’s Program and Advocacy department is now looking to strengthen the MERL and Program Quality team with an Advisor on M&E (Monitoring & Evaluation) and Data Analysis.

We are looking for someone who appreciates the diversity of such a role, involving tasks that range from strategic discussions to detailed project follow-up, and who has a strong sense of dedication and high work capacity.

Main Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for quality assuring all the data submitted to Plan International Norway as part of regular, ongoing results monitoring. This includes database management and using of statistical tools. Data and results needs to be analyzed and consolidated to feed into monitoring, analysis and strategic decisions. The position will also contribute to the broader M&E work in Plan, which includes development and quality assurance of results frameworks, dialogue with country offices about their results reporting, capacity building internally and externally, as well as donor reporting on indicators and targets. The position may also be involved in development and quality assurance of reviews and evaluations, and contribute in the continuous development of methodology, tools and systems. Some travel will be required.

Background and Experience

  • Masters Degree in relevant field
  • 10 years’ experience in related field, international experience will be an advantage
  • Ability to understand and consolidate large amounts of data
  • Familiar with statistical data collection and data analysis tools
  • Ability to build systems and structures yourself, as well as follow up on already established M&E systems
  • Ability to communicate results in writing
  • Written and spoken fluency in English, knowledge in French and Scandinavian language will be an asset
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection methods will be an advantage
  • A broader understanding of monitoring and evaluation, research and learning, especially in the international development and humanitarian context, will be an advantage.
