FREYR Battery is on a mission to decarbonize energy and transportation systems globally by producing the world’s most sustainable battery cells.

The first step towards achieving our goals is building four battery cell factories in Mo i Rana. We will soon be opening the doors to our Customer Qualification Plant – the first industrial scale lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing facility in Norway. Here we will validate and improve technology, materials, and cell designs as we prepare for commercial production at our Gigafactories, where we plan to deliver 43 GWh of battery cell capacity annually by 2025, positioning FREYR as one of Europe’s largest battery cell suppliers. FREYR is also exploring opportunities abroad, both up-and downstream of battery cell production.

We are looking for a highly qualified Project Control Manager, who can assume full responsibility of the Project Control functions for the international portfolio of early-stage projects, contributing to the conversion of ideas into solid and tangible investment decisions.

You must have the ability to quickly develop a holistic understanding of the unique features and complexity of the projects and adapt the right approach for cost estimation, schedule development, risk management, and stakeholder engagement through governance processes and reporting. This will contribute to development of the projects and ability to make informed decisions in relation to the development of strategies, concepts and solutions.

Your main tasks include:

• Project and concept development
• Identify and manage the key value drivers for early-phase Gigaprojects
• Impact strategic decisions in the early phase of the project
• Cost estimation, benchmarking and analysis
• Cost monitoring and forecasting
• Develop, manage and maintain overall integrated execution plans
• Implement effective project risk management
• Management reporting

We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant role (Project Control, Project Management, Project Development or other strategic / commercial / management consultant role)
• Masters or bachelor’s degree
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written

The following qualifications are advantageous, but not a requirement:

• Ideal candidate has a mix of business/mgmt consulting/commercial and Project Execution experience
• Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluency in Norwegian
• Experience working in an international and/or process industry company
• Experience with different project execution and contract strategies
• Certification / education within Project Management topics
