MAIN WORK TASKS

• Participate in multidiscipline projects with a focus on development, programming, and testing of software, firmware, and algorithms integrated in downhole tools, as well as topside operations interfaces (GUI/HMI) and communication between these.
• Administration, delivery, and maintenance of software/firmware.
• Participate in the development of system architecture, functional specifications, selection of solutions, and writing documentation.
• Participate in all project phases, from idea to commercial product.
• Work with mechatronics and automation of downhole equipment.
• Participate in the improvement and further development of internal processes for software, as well as elevating the in-house programming competence.
• Evaluation of new technologies.

SUPPORT TASKS

• As part of the engineering team, participate in the development and testing of electronics systems integrated in remotely controlled/automated downhole tools.
• Development and assembly of electromechanical test setups.
• Integrate and test electronics in electromechanical prototypes.
• Run electronics and system tests, analyse results, make recommendations and prepare/update documentation.
• Supplier collaboration and delivery follow-up.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Education compliant to master’s degree in ICT/Electronics/Mechatronics/Cybernetics. Relevant experience can make up for formal education.
• Digital systems architecture.
• Extensive programming experience with C/C++, with a focus on quality and reusability.
• Familiar with Microprocessors and Microcontrollers (TI, PIC, Intel).
• Digital communications and interfaces (CAN, USB, RS-232, SPI, I2C).
• Design and implementation of Human Machine Interfaces (GUI/HMI).
• Software testing and debugging.
• Creation of technical documentation.
• Applicable software tools and applications:

*National Instruments LabView/LabWindows CVI

*Source code version control systems (GIT)

*Microcontroller development IDE’s (Integrated Development Environments)

*Source code editors and browsers
