Description and duties
As Communications officer at AECO you will have responsibilities and tasks connected to AECO’s internal and external communication, website management, social media, newsletters, press releases, presentations, profiling and design, photo archiving and projects. English proof-reading is part of your responsibility. You will also be involved in crisis communication in response to incidents. You will report to the Communications manager.
The Communications officer may be called upon to carry out other essential tasks as needed and according to the overall capacity of the Secretariat.
Qualifications, experience and skills
· Higher education in public relations, communications, or another relevant field
· A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
· Excellent oral and written English skills
· Professional proficiency in Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Strong writing, editing, proofreading and professional publishing skills
· Experience from website development and management (Wordpress)
· Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
· An eye for details and excellent time management skills
· Experience with production and design of graphic material (Adobe Creative Cloud)
In addition, the following competencies are advantageous:
· Familiarity with AECO and the Arctic expedition cruise industry
· Experience with photography
· Experience with video production

Some travel to Arctic and non-Arctic areas is to be expected for this position.
This is a full time, permanent position. Salary and other terms will be based on qualifications and experience. Place of work is preferably at the head office in Tromsø, Norway. Tentative start up is 1 October 2022.
