Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results oriented professional for the position of Senior Analyst in the Corporate Governance Department. Corporate Governance is responsible for furthering the long-term economic performance of our investments and reducing financial risks associated with the environmental, social and governance practices of the companies we invest in.
As a large owner with numerous investments around the world, we aim to contribute to global standards and practices that are in the fund’s long-term interest. This is one of the key pillars of our responsible investment approach.
Your role will be to lead Norges Bank Investment Management’s engagement with regulators and standard-setters globally, focusing on sustainability and corporate governance matters. You will also serve as the subject matter expert on ESG regulatory issues at NBIM. You will have a particular focus on evolving standards for corporate climate disclosure.
The position is located in London or Oslo and will report to the Global Head of Corporate Governance. Travel will be required.
Duties and responsibilities
- Promoting the fund’s ownership policies with international organisations, regulators and standard setters to achieve wider market impact
- Developing an active network of contacts with regulators, standard setters, and other relevant national and international organisations
- Participating in working groups, advisory committees of relevant standard setters and initiatives, appropriate
- Contributing to the development of fund’s ESG policy documents
- Responding to public consultations and engaging in a regular dialogue with regulators and standard-setters in our key markets, on corporate governance and sustainability topics
- Pro-actively identifying and monitoring ESG regulatory and standard setting developments, and analysing their implications for the fund
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in politics, law, economics, sciences or other relevant field
- Minimum of 6 years’ work experience in the financial services industry, in a regulatory authority or international standard-setter
- Good understanding of the EU policy-making process and global ESG policies, in particular on climate disclosure
- Good understanding of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and their impact on investment decision making
