Statkraft is looking for a strong Category Manager who has exceptional strategic, analytical, and commercial skills and is committed to adding value and supporting our growth ambitions and supplier development within hydrogen and to support in other new business lines.

Category Manager Hydrogen and New Business

The importance of creating new business initiatives is enhanced in Statkrafts strategy, as one of four strategic priorities. As Statkraft is taking a leading position in the shift towards decarbonisation, a priority is developing new green business lines with high growth potential.

We are currently strengthening the organization to support these opportunities. Statkraft will develop the category approach and supplier relationships in these areas as the strategic suppliers are key to success.

The category manager will be responsible for analysing the supplier market, trends and internal demand and formulate category strategies to increase value added. The category manager shall have an advanced strategic and commercial mindset and drive continuous improvements within the assigned categories. The category manager will play an integral role in developing hydrogen and other new business initiatives into commercialization [or commercially viable ventures].

Statkraft Group Procurement is responsible for execution of procurement in large projects and category management in OPEX and CAPEX. Group Procurement is also responsible for procurement processes, systems, methods, and a sustainable and responsible supply chain. The department consists of 50 highly competent procurement specialists.

Your role

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the New Business unit on sourcing related issues
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the supply markets, competitors and product innovations within hydrogen and other new business
  • Perform internal and external analysis to identify improvement opportunities
  • Manage relationships with strategic suppliers and monitor the supply markets to identify and develop potential suppliers, including extensive contact with Norwegian suppliers
  • Assume responsibility for sustainability goals relating to the supply chain and strategic suppliers
  • Develop and implement category strategies in support of Statkrafts strategic goals and strengthening our competitive advantage
  • Reporting category progress and results against targets
  • Establish an excellent working relationship with senior management, internal demand owners, contract managers and other internal stakeholders in Statkraft

Competence requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of at least seven years from working with Supply Chain Management or Strategy Development
  • Masters degree in engineering, business, or economics with excellent results
  • Experience from working in an international, complex, and evolving environment
  • An excellent communicator with fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Strong knowledge of Strategic Sourcing and Category Management
  • Strong understanding and ambassadorship of Sustainability and HSE principles and culture

The position will be based at Statkraft office locations at Lilleaker. The Category Manager reports to the VP & Business Partner in Group Procurement based in Oslo, Norway.

Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and authorisation
