Do you want to work with sustainable financial solutions that support the transition to low carbon and more resource efficient economies? Danske Bank is looking for a specialist to join the sustainable finance team and drive our efforts in Norway.

New position in a leading Sustainable Finance team

Sustainable Finance is responsible for driving the integration of sustainability into the bank’s core business. The team’s main area of focus is Danske Bank’s Large Corporates and Institutions unit, which serves the bank’s largest corporate and institutional customers across the Nordics. In addition, the team is responsible for some group wide tasks, most notably developing the methodology for the bank’s commitment to set a Paris climate agreement aligned target for the corporate lending book. Your geographical location will be in Oslo but you will on a daily basis work with colleagues across the Nordics, and you will report to Head of Sustainable Finance Nordic.

Your tasks as a sustainability expert will consist of both client-facing and internal work regarding Sustainable Finance. You will drive client discussions on Sustainable Finance helping to strengthen Danske Bank’s thought-leadership in Norway and other Nordics. We help our clients to navigate the sustainability transformation of financial markets to recognize opportunities and considerations relevant for them. Internally, you will, for instance, develop and operationalize our bank’s climate ambitions and assess the environmental credentials of projects eligible for green financing.

Expert with an interest in connecting sustainability and financial markets

You have an academic background from a relevant field such as Finance, Engineering or Environmental and Sustainability Sciences. You have already gained solid work experience from i.e. financial sector, industry or consulting. You have a good understanding of key Norwegian industries, their sustainability challenges and solutions. While a prior knowledge of finance is advantageous, it’s not a required for the position. The most important thing for this position is solid experience from sustainability work.

Several backgrounds are relevant for this role. You could currently be solving sustainability challenges in a Norwegian industrial sector or you could be working within sustainable finance and ESG.

As a person, you are motivated to get things done and want to achieve positive impact through your working life. You are strong analytically but also hold excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. You can understand even complex topics and present them in an easily understandable manner. You should be fluent in Norwegian and English.
