Since launching in March 2020 we have sold surplus building materials for millions to thousands of happy customers. We have signed deals with Norway’s largest retail chains, producers and distributors, secured Schibsted and Orkla Ventures as investors and we launched in Sweden on the 15th of February 2022! Now, we want to bring this to the next level...

...so we need you on our development team, which today consists of four full-time programmers, a ux-designer, a product owner and a CTO.

WHO ARE YOU?
Honestly, we have no idea who you are. You might be fresh out of school or pushing 50. You could have a computer science degree, or maybe you are more the-learning-by-doing type? You may be someone who is motivated by being part of creating something new. You might be dreaming of joining an early-stage startup. You could be into printing your face on coffee mugs or knitting hats, for all we know. Workwise you may be backend or full stack – whatever floats your boat, we´ll find a way to make it work!

- WooCommerce (...we add homemade components on top)
- Typescript for client side-things, plus html and sass
- Always open to introducing new frameworks!

In the Nordic region alone, the market for building materials is worth NOK 250 billion. And there are unsold goods worth NOK 2 billion in Norway alone - and corresponding quantities throughout Europe. A large part of the unsold goods end up getting thrown. It is both an economic and a sustainability problem, and one that we are determined to solve.
Tørn was established in 2020, and is partly owned by Schibsted and Orkla Ventures. The team currently totals 20 people spread across Norway and Sweden, large enough to make a difference in the industry and small enough for everyone to be able to see their role in creating that impact. Tørn platform is used by more than 170 warehouses, distributors and manufacturers to sell their surplus on torn.no and torn.se
