PGS is looking for curious and talented graduates to join our Seismic Quality team in Oslo, Norway.

As a Positioning and QC Supervisor graduate, you will provide positioning and geomatic services to the operation and Business Units within PGS, and support our offshore operations working with data acquisition, in-sea positioning, geodata exchange formats, data models and geo databases. This is an ideal role for a person with an analytical mindset and with interests and skills within Geomatics. It is advantageous having an interest in geographical databases and sql-programming as well.

PGS is on a journey to transform the way we work with data and digital technologies, moving from systematic line by line QC to statistical analysis. We welcome you to partake in forming the way forward.

Main Tasks

  • Provide positioning support to the vessels throughout the survey
  • QC of positioning data and procedures
  • Ensure learnings and knowledge is captured and easily retrieved
  • Responsible for pre-plot production of assigned survey
  • Finalize Navigation and positioning deliverables and upload to our production database
  • Presenting/visualizing geo-information using GIS and cartography

Required Qualification

  • Master or Bachelor degree in the field of Geomatics, Surveying or similar.
  • Some knowledge to geographical databases and data analytics
  • Valid passport and meeting the requirements to obtain a work permit in Norway is essential

Preferred Qualification

  • Knowing GIS systems as QGIS, arcGIS and Petrosys
  • Some knowledge to bathymetry and hydrography
  • An innovative mind and an ability to learn new skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team to accomplish goals
  • Able to perform under pressure and prioritize
