APL Norway AS, part of NOV Process and Flow Technologies is a global leader in offshore turret mooring and loading systems, providing advanced patented technologies to energy companies, FPSO-, FSO- and shuttle tanker operators worldwide.

Headquartered on Hisøy outside Arendal, APL has through our 29 years of existence developed solutions for the global offshore oil and gas industry. Our Marine analysis department is divided in two hubs, one in Arendal and one in Houston, US. We have also entered the renewable marked including Offshore Wind and Offshore CO2 injection and storage.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design and analysis of mooring and riser systems
• Analysis of vessel/floater motions, green water, and slamming
• Hydrostatic stability analysis
• Participate in preparation of quotations and studies
• Participate in development projects and influence new products and systems for the future
• Participate in discussions with client, sub suppliers and class societies
• As an Engineer you will also participate in the development of marine analysis tools and procedures. The role offers versatile and varied engineering tasks with focus on marine analysis
•  You will work closely with other departments and disciplines (design, structural, mechanical, fabrication and installation)

Qualifications:

• Engineer with Master, PhD or similar education within hydrodynamics or marine constructions
• Solid theoretical knowledge and experience from offshore industry or from hydrodynamic analysis and mooring design for floating wind turbines is an advantage, but newly graduated is encouraged to apply
• Strong computer skills are required, coding with Python, Fortran or similar is part of our daily work. Experience with software as WAMIT/WADAM, VERES, RIFLEX, SIMO, SIMA, ORCAFLEX or similar
• Applicants must be proficient in verbal and written English, and good Norwegian skills are preferred
