We are looking for a skilled co-worker with Mechanical engineering background to join our Technical team covering Wireline & ComTrac operations in Stavanger.

We are seeking you that is genuinely interested in problem solving, development and continuous improvements. We can offer an informal and open environment where you will be involved and have influence on the further development on the Wireline & ComTrac technology.

Wireline is the most common method of performing well intervention, using steel wires & cables (mechanical & electrical) to perform intervention work.

The ComTrac technology is a new conveyance method for well intervention. With the increasing demand to intervene more efficient in wells that are increasing in complexity and length, and where the traditional well conveyance methods are being stretch to their limits our ComTrac technology provides a solution. The ComTrac technology utilizes the properties of a carbon-composite material to create new opportunities and we believe that we again can start to push new boundaries.

Reporting line
Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Technical Manager.

Role
This role will be a part of a core technical team and working actively on improving our Wireline & ComTrac technology both independently and in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and our skilled team in the workshop.

Key responsibilities

Be the main point of contact for on- and offshore operations related to mechanical support and troubleshooting
Supervise & support workshop as required in the daily repair, maintenance & equipment preparation activities
Support in any ongoing development, testing and investigation within the ComTrac projects
Ensure that equipment and documentation is according to applicable regulations and standards
Be a part of identifying & coordinating courses and training of ComTrac personnel
Request and purchase of spare parts and new equipment as required
Define technical requirements during procurement of new equipment
Responsible for acquiring 3rd party service assistance on systems when required
Continuously look for areas to improve related to equipment, procedures, performance of the work etc.
Contribute with technical assistance during transition to a digital workflow
Be prepared to lead technical projects when required
Provide support to all on- and offshore disciplines within Archer Wireline scope of work (mechanical, logging etc.) as required

Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor or Master within Mechanical Engineering. Extensive experience may compensate for lack of formal education

Experience:

Familiar with the use of CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks and/or Catia V5 is preferred
Engineering experience from product development / production is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Norwegian
Excellent skills in Word and Excel
Skilled in writing of technical documentations such as reports, procedures and check lists
Experience and/or interest within composite materials is a benefit, but not a requirement
